Each pair of partners were given 10 straws, a piece of foil and a roll of masking tape. They only directions they were given were:
* talk with your partner to make a plan
* try out all your ideas
* use only the materials given to you- we will not be giving any more( including scissors)
Love the teamwork ...
"Let's draw a plan"
"We should cut it in 1/2 so we can both keep the parts we built"
"Let's fold it a little, like a taco."
The pennies were added one at a time to see how many "people" the boats could hold before taking on water.
