On Monday, November 7th, Blanchard Memorial's 5th grade class ran a mock election for the entire school. Our kindergarten children were guided through the voting process by these amazing 5th grade students. As you can imagine the day was filled with lots of chatter and excitement about the candidates. 
A variety of literacy activities were completed in class linking to the theme of voting, election day, and the role of the President.

Honoring our veterans.
We read the story
We attended community meeting where we honored the men and women in our community and thanked them for their service.
Together we sang a song to honor and respect those who have served and protected. Everyone in the audience was moved, even the youngest of students.
